How to cut an MP3 online

  1. Open your file. Click Choose Audio or drag an MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC or other audio file onto the page. It opens instantly in your browser and is never uploaded.
  2. Select the part you want. Drag the orange start and end handles on the waveform, or type exact times such as 0:45.250. Zoom in for millisecond precision.
  3. Choose what to do with it. Keep selection trims the file to the selected part. Remove selection cuts that part out and joins the rest without a click.
  4. Add finishing touches. Set a fade in, a fade out or change the volume, then press Preview to hear exactly what you will get.
  5. Export. Pick MP3 (128–320 kbps) or lossless WAV, press Cut, then Download.

Frequently asked questions

Is this audio cutter free?

Yes. AudioCutter is free to use with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you cut.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, cutting, fades and MP3/WAV encoding all run inside your browser with the Web Audio API. Your audio never leaves your device, so it stays private and works even for long recordings.

Which formats can I open?

Any format your browser can play: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OPUS and WEBM in most modern browsers. If a file can't be opened, convert it to MP3 or WAV first or try another browser.

Can I make a ringtone?

Yes. Select 20–30 seconds, add a short fade in and fade out so it starts and ends smoothly, and export as MP3. Android phones accept MP3 ringtones directly; on iPhone you can import the file through GarageBand.

Does cutting reduce the quality?

WAV export is lossless. MP3 export re-encodes the audio; at 256 or 320 kbps the difference is not audible for most listeners.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes, AudioCutter works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on Android and iPhone as well as on computers and tablets. Very long files need more memory, which some phones may not have.
