About AudioCutter
AudioCutter is a free online tool for trimming and cutting audio files. It was built to be fast, precise and private.
What it does
You can open MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC and other audio files, see the waveform, select a part with draggable markers or exact times, and export the result as MP3 or WAV. Fade in, fade out and volume adjustment are built in, and you can preview the result before saving it.
Typical uses are making ringtones, shortening voice recordings, trimming podcast intros, removing silence or mistakes from a recording, and preparing short clips for videos.
Why it is private
Most online audio cutters upload your file to their servers. AudioCutter doesn't. All processing happens inside your browser using the Web Audio API, and your audio never leaves your device. That also means there is no waiting for uploads, even with large files.
How it is made
The site is built with standard web technologies: the Web Audio API for decoding and playback, WaveSurfer.js for the waveform, and the LAME MP3 encoder for MP3 export. It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers, tablets and phones.
Free to use
AudioCutter is free and needs no account. The site is supported by advertising.
